AI is transforming our world—discover how AGI and future superintelligence could change society over the next 20 years.
AI Futures
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing many aspect of our lives and increasingly integrated into everyday devices & systems. AI makes industries more efficient and productive. Enhanced AI robots will soon perform complex tasks. AI technology is evolving towards multi skilled Generalised Artificial Intelligence (AGI) including AL reasoning, AI agents and AI robots. Long term evolution to AI Superintelligence (ASI) will surpass the best human brains in practically every field.
How will this change society in the next 5,10 and 20 years? What are the benefits and risks?
Following a short break, AI Subject Advisor Barry Claydon and the "AI for Everyone" team will host an update and discussion with a Q and A.
About the speaker
Ian Hawker graduated from Leicester University with BSc and PhD degrees in Physics, and worked at BT Research Labs near Ipswich. Since joining the u3a his main interest areas have been in how AI is being used across industry including the health sector.
